Nothing leaves
your device.
Sudoku is built for the slow minutes — and that includes the silence around them. No accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, no advertising. Just a grid, you, and maybe a friend on SharePlay.
What we collect
Nothing.
Sudoku does not have a server. There is no Devpool account. There are no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters that phone home, no third-party trackers, no advertising network. The app does not know your IP address, your location, your Apple ID, or any device identifier.
The display name
When you start the app, we ask for a display name (something like "Léa" or "Jay") and
store it in your local UserDefaults.
This is the only personal data the app holds. It never leaves your device — except in one specific case:
- During an active SharePlay session, your display name is sent to the other participants in your FaceTime call, so they can see "Léa just filled the top-right box." This goes peer-to-peer through Apple's GroupActivities framework. We do not see it, we do not log it, we do not store it anywhere off your device.
SharePlay & FaceTime
The multiplayer mode runs on top of Apple's SharePlay framework, which itself runs on top of FaceTime.
Game state (which cells are filled, completion times, the difficulty picked) is exchanged
peer-to-peer between participants using GroupSessionMessenger.
Apple's privacy policy applies to the underlying FaceTime call.
Devpool sees none of that traffic.
Puzzle generation
Every Sudoku grid is generated locally on your device using a deterministic backtracking solver. No grid is downloaded, no API is queried, no internet connection is needed for solo play.
In short: the only network call Sudoku ever triggers is the SharePlay session — and that's between you and your friends through Apple's pipes, not ours.
Children
Sudoku is rated 4+ on the App Store. The app collects no personal information from anyone, children included. Multiplayer requires a FaceTime call, which has its own age policy on Apple's side.
Changes
If this privacy notice ever changes — for instance if we one day add an optional iCloud sync of your completion times — we will update the date at the top of this page and document the change clearly. No silent changes.
